EEOC UPDATE RELEASED!

Welcome to the latest version of the PosterSolution.com update newsletter; we hope you're all having a great fall season.

In this issue of the newsletter, we'll talk about the upcoming federal EEOC posting update mandated by the Genetic Information Nondisclosure Act (aka GINA). And as always, we'll review all the mandatory state-level labor law posting changes that have taken place since the last newsletter.
Upcoming Federal Change: The GINA ACT and the EEOC Posting
The most critical change this quarter will be an update to the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) posting, which goes into effect on November 21, 2009. The change to the EEOC posting was mandated by the passage of the Genetic Information Nondisclosure Act (aka GINA).

All employers with 15 or more employees, regardless of which state they are in, will be required to post the updated version of the new EEOC posting.*

The EEOC has released the new posting and we will be typesetting and printing the revised versions of our posters over the next several days. PosterSolution is now taking orders for all updated federal-only as well as state+federal combo posters. Simply place your order online at http://www.postersolution.com and we will ship your order as soon as the updated version is ready.

*The updated poster will also be required to post for any private and public employment agencies, labor organizations, and joint labor management committees controlling apprenticeship and training, and for entities holding federal contracts or subcontracts or federally assisted construction contracts of $10,000 or more; financial institutions which are issuing and paying agents for U.S. savings bonds and savings notes; and depositories of federal funds or entities having government bills of lading.

Recent State Changes
The following states have all had mandatory posting updates in the past quarter:

ALABAMA--Alabama has modified its Child Labor posting with new enforcement standards, and has also added penalties for minor offenses.

COLORADO--Colorado has added new amendments regarding spouses killed in combat to the state's Employment Security Act posting.

MAINE--Maine has added changes to the exemption for counselors, juniors and counselors-in-training, and added additional information regarding Equal Pay as well, to the state's Minimum Wage Posting.
